If you want to operate a Web site using your new brand name, you will need a domain name. Once decided on a brand name, check on the availability of domain name. Search through domain-name registry like GoDaddy.com,above.com etc and if it is available to register, grab it immediately. If this domain with extension .com is already registered, purchase it at a reasonable price..com are the premier domains. This should always be your first choice
Try to register or take all extensions. For example, if you are interested in nxtbite.com, then buy it as it has been already registered by me. But also register nxtbite.info, nxtbite.org and nxtbite.net also so that nobody can play around with your brand.
There is the long discussion on whether domain name should be long or short. For this you can refer to http;//dropeddomains.com.The domain should be able to express your brand, business.
